I would like to inform all gravon players to a rule very few know (I think).

A player who has another player in the square rule, can be stopped by attacking one of his other pieces.

This player then has to choose for an offer, or not hitting the piece he got in the square rule, or accept a draw.

Better is a visual example, Maybe Stratego can add a picture if he knows what I mean.

It seems like he is referring to the practice of attacking a piece from a diagonal position.......in the attempt to stop a trapped piece being taken.

There should be an old topic about this subject.......somewhere in the archives.

I was in a game once where I had a player trapped and he avoided the capture by having a second diagonal chase going and alternating thus running down the game clock (timer game). That was really bizarre and I havent seen it before or since. The game ended in a draw by game clock expiry

i think that what ruben means is : that there is a situation with as example 4 6 pieces which are all over the 3 entry's of the game, left middle right. every piece has a piece diagonal for it which will chase and chase until someone makes a offer to get the other or walk back in his own setup, so rubens point is that if ruben attacks the piece on left his opponent wil attack on the right side or middle, so he get a piece for his own piece, if ruben doesn't want to make this offer they keep chase and chase to lose nothing from both sides, hope you guys can you use this. maybe you understand it now.

Ace and Bob know what I mean, Ric means something different, what is not legal I think.

Stratego, I mean a combination of these 2 square rules. But in this case they are equal. The more square rule is used to stop the oponent getting your piece that is trapped in the 2 square rule.

And the word has been copyrighted so get used to it

hi ruben,

there is no combination of a 2 square rule. two 2sr adds to a more-square-rule.
(if one player is the attacker für both)

there is a 2sr within the more-suare-rule

otherwise its like posted before. (if both players have a attacking position
within a 2sr).

lets say you threat my gen with your m at one side and the gen cannot
evade to a 3rd square.
at other side same for me - my m attacks your gen. then the situation
is a draw. (or both loose their gen)

do you mean this?

Yes I think you have got it now. And its not neceseraly a draw.

When your Marshall attacks my gen on the more square rule, and I dont want a draw, I will stop attacking your general.

When your marshall couldnt attack my general I would get your general. So this Anti-chase interruption rule, to say it once more is very strong and good to know.

hi ruben,

this doesnt work - if you stop threatening my gen, we are in a
diagonal position. maybe you can show me this at board, but
i think you are wrong.
