hello all,
inspired by the posting from wellington, who found a game with a brilliant spy, i would like
to restart an old idea.
a lot of user use the strados system an watch the replays. some just for fun, others for learning.
because of the numerousness of games its hard tro pick out the really good once.
maybe we can start a "golden series" and a game of the month.
the golden series
if a user found a very good game - lets say in one of 5 categories - he can post the game number. this makes it much easier to search for a good game
or for a special one. we could create a special download file for the golden series.
cat 1 - general good game
insteresting and well played from both sides - worth the time to watch
cat 2 - attacking
a good attacking game with a clear strategy from the setup to the final move.
cat 3 - defence
a well played defence - always the right move and piece at the right time
cat 4 - special games with a good tactical part
how to catch a spy - a draw with the last scout - catching a scout with
5 pieces - the biggest bluff etc etc
cat 5 - pure fun
the games we hate (if we were involved) - its not done till you are in the lobby
what we need is the game number from strados and a short description with the cat no. - like:
game no.: xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx - cat 1
a good game from start to an exiting end game from both players
maybe be should create a strados team, who watch the files and recheck the games. (also if the cat no. is ok)
in addition every user can post ONE game for the game of the month.
all others can vote about the games.
for sure there are more or different ideas how to do it - lets discuss what is the best way
to create the golden series and the game of the month.

Hi SM, How do you download games from recent times? The only link I found takes you to an archive of games that are years old. |

hi darth,
yes - in the moment we have only the games up to 2006 online. but a lot
are in spions archive. but 2003 to 06 were good times with tough games
we will post the new one and we will update the strados player.
the strados team can add comments to the games and the single moves.
so we can explain the moves, tactic and ideas of a player. in combination
with very good games its the best way to learn and improve your
skill. (ok - for you we need some of my best games to show you the last
tricks i wish we had some of our old games from wsc.

are you intrested to join the team ? its not much work but this will add a
new chapter in stratego history!
of course everyone can join the team (lets say 5-6 people to keep it
small) |

Hi SM, I'll be happy to review games. That sounds like a fun task.
Yes, I wish we had some of the old WSC games. We had some great ones there. |
