I read that 60 people entered the tournament so maybe that's only part of the Tournament result? |

Hi
First to inform tableplay that Citron is actually brother of gpeto but he has stopped play stratego
About the total number of participations it was almost 60 if we account all the players who joined the event (including the juniors and some players who played only during the open tournament on Sunday)
@ Stratego
Greek players who participated in seniors were 11 and of course the final number was much lower than what we expected and were prepared.
But in comparison to the WC in Berlin (2013) where the german players were 16 I do not think that we can call that as a joke.
Do not forget that Greek Federation has almost 4 years history in comparison to the decades life of Germany Federation.
It is better to mention the positive facts of the event in Greece which are that for first time in history of WC it was provided free hotel and catering for almost all the players. Aditionally there was a free city tour by bus and free entrance to museums of the town. And all these are the result of the hard efforts of our president Stauros Sekertzis
We are very disappointed that noone from Germany managed to join this big event and we hope that next time (if we have again the chance to organise such event) many friends of your country will visit Greece to take a sample of our hospitality.

hi zoro,
i just used the word "joke" because mark told us that 30 to 50 players will be around. and 8 fninsh the tourney.
of course its always good for our game if we have a wc in a new country and i really hope that all had fun.
but i heard that a lot problems happen, like no graveyards and that is not the way we will find more players.
i will get much more information from players next days.
greets

Thank you Zoro. I'm glad my memory is not so bad so that I remembered correctly and I hope Citron will return to Stratego someday when it suits him. Congratulations to Tim,Ruben,Richard and the Greek team victory and excellent showing by the hosts.

Thanks Razoa, Tableplay. It was a fantastic tournament. Very well organised by Stravros! Great help from Mark, Leto (Dennis Baas) and Gregory (Zoro). The Greek players did very good despite their short experience with off-line tournaments! More important, they were very nice, sportive and enthusiast about off-line stratego. I believe many will join the Next World Cup somewhere else in Europe!

Seems to me that all involved (players and organizers) did a good job!!
Congrats to the winners!
I hope to meet Greek players at the next events -no matter whether in Greece, England, Holland or Germany!
Cheers
